    English language teaching has important four skills. Speaking and writing belongs with the productive skills. Listening and reading belongs with the receptive skills.


    B. Why is this integration a new concept? That is, what are some reasons that many classes have not been integrated before?


    Language teaching has been focused on the forms of language. Many curriculums separated with four skills in the past.

    This division can make it's easier to program separate courses. And students have their own purposes.



    C.Why does Brown suggest we should integrate the four skills?



    There are many situations in which we use more than one language skill.

    Written and spoken language is closely connected. And often one skill will reinforce another.

    Integrating skills allow that students can get intrinsical motivations.


    THEME-BASED INSTRUCTION.


    Theme-based teaching has an equal value on content and language objectives.

    Students chose a course because their language skills need improvement and they can focus on topics. They are interested in subject to learn or communicate about.

    It could also help improve their english.
